Getting started...
Welcome to the freshly revamped Leeds United Chat website - which hopefully offers a far more entertaining and user-friendly interface than its predecessor.
Firstly, unlike its predecessor, this is a Members Only site. If you wish to post, you will need to become a member!
Guidelines
The following are intended as guidelines, in order that everyone can use Leeds United Chat productively. It might also serve as a reference point should you wonder why one of your posts have been moderated.
BIG RULES: Things deemed to be totally unacceptable:
Pornographic material
Spam/Commercial advertising
Over the top personal abuse of other posters (unless its in jest of course!) A difficult area but ongoing abuse and bullying will not be tolerated!)
Racist abuse is not tolerated.
Registering and using duplicate accounts whilst banned.
Guidelines: Things we'd rather you did not do:
Creating duplicate threads. Before starting a new thread check to see if the subject of your intended post is not already covered by an existing thread. Post to existing threads wherever possible.
Excessive/unnecessary swearing. This is a footie site - full of embittered Leeds supporters - so we're gonna swear but try to keep it in context and do not use swear words on new thread titles on the main Leeds United forum. I've consciously decided to switch off the automated 'profanaty filter' but persistent, unnecessary or overtly unpleasant swearing will see your posts removed. Sorry.
Use of banners to promote personal websites We don't mind giving new Leeds sites a little promotion. However, we would prefer you to use the 'Links' thread rather than 'spam' the main forum. We would prefer you not to use large banners for self promotion, as it clutters up the site and detracts from the actual postings.
What to expect in terms of moderation:
Without boring you with details, moderation on this site will be done, as it always has been, with as light a touch as possible. Obviously, for this to continue, I need your support. However, if you ignore any of the BIG RULES, you'll will find youself being moderated in one of the following ways (depending on each instance):
Temporary or Full access ban. This ban could be via email address or IP address
Temporary posting ban.
A warning issued
If anyone feels offended in any way by something they've read, please contact us. We'll look at the post in question and deal with it the best we can.
Where possible/applicable, new users will be given a polite pointer to these guidelines if we deem it necessary. An explanation will always be given as to why a thread is locked or moved to another forum.
Right, well that's about it - apart from to say...enjoy our community!
